At passenger security checkpoints, we use our skills and international experience in planning, designing and reengineering screening operations to uncover ‘hidden’ passenger search capacity and maximise the use of available capacity, whilst adhering to security requirements. This not only reduces congestion and improves the customer experience, but also lowers operating costs and enables clients to defer expensive capital expenditure programmes.
More broadly within the airport, our team helps airport clients to identify, from an operational perspective, potential risks and develop mitigation measures. For example, we provide solutions on how to reduce congestion in public areas and therefore the attractiveness of these locations as targets.
With our broad knowledge of available screening equipment, current and future legislation, technology requirements to meet legislative requirements, and an understanding of an airport’s operational performance targets, o&i consulting is in a position to enable clients to deliver security operations that meet all requirements and expectations. Utilising analytical and scenario modelling skills, we are also able to advise clients when their facilities are likely to exceed capacity based on current and potential performance.
As a supplier to the European Commission on its Aviation Security Framework, o&i consulting completed studies regarding the future carriage of liquids in cabin baggage through airports, the protection of landside areas, the reduction of congestion in public areas and the application of One Stop Security.
