o&i consulting is a specialist operations consultancy. We design, plan, and improve aviation, logistics, and service sector operations, helping clients to achieve operational excellence through practical solutions that are transferable and achievable in live operation.

These core capabilities are at the centre of everything we do and are represented in the ‘o&i’ in our company name: ‘o’ for ‘operations research’ and ‘i’ for ‘industrial engineering’.

We provide them with a detailed understanding and accurate representation of current operations performance, quantify the potential of their operation, and design, recommend and implement approaches to improve performance and service. This includes designing new processes and improving existing ones, providing detailed layout designs, and developing achievable, efficient operating plans.

David Calder, Director David Calder
David has been a Director of o&i consulting since it was founded. He has over twenty years of experience in process design and optimisation, change implementation and project management for the aviation and logistics industries. As an innovative problem solver with a broad understanding of operations in our client sectors, he provides strategic direction to clients as well as recommending and leading operational change.
David provided long-term leadership and expert operations support to Heathrow Airport in its preparations for the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. He also led the design and implementation of baggage handling and ramp processes for British Airways during the development of Terminal 5. Most recently, he has worked closely with clients and equipment manufacturers to prepare for LAGs legislative changes.
Previously employed at UPS, David held senior operations management positions. He has also served various parcel and logistics companies in a consulting capacity, where he has made significant operations improvements and cost savings.

Nigel Marsh, Director Nigel Marsh
Nigel is a successful Operations and Engineering Director with a proven track record of delivering results. He has led, managed and influenced business change and operations improvement. A strategic thinker with an enterprising and resourceful attitude to problem solving, Nigel has achieved impressive results through improved operations efficiency, business transformation, successful acquisition and integration, improved service performance, and employee involvement. Nigel played a central role in the development and implementation of airport solutions and processes for the 2012 Olympic Games. He has also worked with a number of airports to assess the impact of changes in LAGs legislation, determine the required process and equipment changes, and implement these changes. Before joining o&i consulting, he spent over twenty years at UPS (fifteen at board level) where his senior positions included Director of Engineering and Director of Operations at both national and international levels for the logistics and small package businesses. Claire Morgan, Partner Claire Morgan
Claire has significant knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry, developed through operational and commercial experience. She also plays an important role in o&i consulting’s marketing and business development activities.
Claire has made key contributions to the development and realisation of operations solutions in an airport environment. She is a good communicator and has been central in motivating, coaching and coordinating client teams during implementation processes.
Claire has been involved in a large number of process analysis, design and implementation projects at airports including Copenhagen, Dublin, Gatwick, Heathrow, and Sydney.
